My thoughts: Big J loves anything that has to do with trucks and construction equipment so this book is perfect for him. He loves to look at the pictures in the book and the illustrations are beautiful with a great attention to detail. He also enjoys making up his own story to the pictures. It does relax him at night and after we are done reading he is normally ready to fall asleep. The one thing that surprised me about this book is that Ty enjoyed it as well. She normally doesn’t like trucks or anything boy related but she loves this book as well. She even asks for it to be read at night and will run and grab this book for story time. The rhythms in the book are easy for children to understand because there aren’t too many words. It also allows for story expansion with words written in italic’s so you can either shorten the story or expand it which allows your child’s imagination to direct the story and make a story of their own.
